Small Update
Dec. 11th, 2006 02:03 pmWell, the illness that began with one of David and Kathleen's visitors from the UK, and most recently put David in the hospital with pneumonia has now made its way to me. It's a very strange illness. Here's how it's been working so far.
I wake up. I feel pretty good for a couple of hours, and can function just about normally. Exceptions: I have trouble breathing, both due to sinuses (which were an issue long before the illness) and to my chest feeling tight/rattly. This makes me tire out more quickly than usual.
About the third hour, I start feeling bad - achey, tired, that general sick feeling. I start getting a headache from hell - which is coming on as we speak, actually. The first time this happened, I just went to sleep, as this is also the time I can no longer keep my eyes open. I woke up a while later (no idea the time frame) from the pain in my head. Usually, ibuprofen won't touch these types of headaches, but luckily, this time it did, and popping 800mg on a regular basis seems to keep the headaches at bay.
I go to sleep. This has been accompanied by death/dismemberment nightmares, that feel an awful lot like hallucinations while they're happening.
Not sure how much longer this is going to last. In some ways, it's been productive. I'm obviously not at work, but I have been trying to do useful things in the couple of hours I have where I feel good. So far today that's only included showering and cleaning the litterboxes, being on the computer and writing up a shopping list for the Beastie, who's home today. The headache, as I mentioned, is coming on again, so I'm expecting the quick downhill slide.
Depending on how much is spent on groceries, maybe I can upgrade back to a paid account. *crosses fingers*
