My computer is being extraordinarily flaky this morning, or Comcast is. Not sure which. As a result, who knows if this will even be posted?

Anyway.

Just a few things, while I wait for the Man Who Writes My Paycheck to get to work, so I can go pick it up, pay bills, do lunch, and other sundries...

Two things I forgot to mention about DragonCon.

One, there were some paintings there that were really cool... I'd have to say the best way to describe them would be Precious Moments Goes Goth. Anyway, there was one that looked so much like userinfoEvilOverqueen that I would have bought it for her, if I'd had the money.

Two... OMG!!!! If any of you recall (and this was brought up in userinfoIndigoSkynet's LJ recently), I will periodically ask my peers if they recall a TV show from back in the day, where this group of people were always looking for Sanctuary... the one I always remembered was Liana, who had long blonde hair and hypnotic eyes. No one I talked to had ever heard of it, and pretty much everyone gave me the suggestion that it was probably Logan's Run, if they gave a suggestion at all. But, lo and behold, as I was walking past one of the vendors, and DVD caught my eye - there was a picture of the cast on the front, and they looked veeeeery familiar. I picked it up and turned it over... was it? It was!!! Long-haired blonde, clearly dubbed as Liana on the back. No mention of Sanctuary, but this was CLEARLY it. There were much bigger cast names in the show, I realized, and perhaps had I remembered them, people might have known what the fuck I was talking about! Anyway, this almost-lost-to-my-memory show is... *drum roll* The Fantastic Journey!!! *glee* Another purchase I would have made if I had the money. 2 of the 3 obligatory DragonCon purchases were made, though... a DragonCon t-shirt, and coffee from the Coffee Shop of Horrors. I talked to the guy there, and mentioned that I'd been in the Gainesville store (now closed, apparently) and was disappointed by how tame it was... not spooky at all. He said that, because of the area, they couldn't go all out, but they're looking to open a store either in Midtown or Little 5, and they're getting together with Netherworld to do the decor. *drool* The third DragonCon obligatory purchase is a Sluggy t-shirt, but alas, no Pete this year. No word on the website that I can see as to why, either. Ah, well... next year.

I feel like I should say something about my Core classes, but I really don't feel inspired to. I mean, I did for a while, but... I dunno. Just seems very internal to me, I guess. They were good... really good. No breakdown and deconstruction, but awesome stuff, just the same. Pam reminded me that it doesn't all have to be deconstructive, so that's good. I learned a lot, and gained some new skills, and some empathy for the person in the group I have the most trouble with. Pretty darn good.

In the meantime, I've had the week off, and have kindasorta been working on the house. My goal, which was total spotlessness by week's end, has not been met, mostly because I've spent time online chatting with a longtime ...how to describe the relationship? friend, lover, Master, and everything in between - companion of mine, who I so rarely get to see. I look around the house with some distress, but I can't (and don't!) regret a moment of the time I spent with him. And I did make some pretty good progress on the house. It just happened to be mostly in the area of the house that we don't really use, so it hasn't made much of an impact on our actual living area, which still looks pretty bad. Again, I don't regret, but would be lovely if there were two of me, or I needed less sleep, or something. Which, y'know, was also very nice to catch up on.

OK, so bills and lunch today... also the Beastie's day off, although he wants some alone time (hence why I'm not dragging him along for the great Bill-Paying Adventure and lunch), but I'm hoping to catch a little time with him when my errands are done.

Anyway, that's about it, that I can recall... Happy days!
