Feeling more productive today. Have gathered garbage (which the blonde beastie promises to take to the dumpster on his way out), cooked breakfast, and, as soon as said beastie is done with his pancakes, I'll run the dishwasher. Did the litterbox thing - we need more litter, and we're good on food and water. We could really use some more cooler water, though. That'll have to be later, 'cause that requires leaving the house and having a car, and I'm not up for that today.

Oh, wait. Scratch that. The dishwasher (and all other water sources in the house) affects the water in the shower. So, dishwasher after shower. Anyway, same deal.

There are so many things to do, not sure which I want to focus on today. I'll just start, and see what happens. I sometimes flit back and forth, anyway.

Part (a LOT of) this cleaning will be getting rid of a bunch o' shit. If anyone needs miscellaneous anythings, feel free to come over and dig through. Otherwise, I'm gonna have to haul it over to the Salvation Army or something.

I think the main thing is that I still need places to put the stuff I don't get rid of. A set of shelves and a few more Rubbermaid containers will do it. I need one more red/green one for some Christmas stuff, but those won't be in season for a while yet.

Right now, just letting my food digest, and being silently companionable with the husband. I'll likely be posting inane nothingness throughout the day, as rewards for getting shit accomplished.

Why is it that most females see taking out the garbage as a males job? I know I do. I don't know why but I do! Although sometimes it's *really* difficult to get the males to take it out. **chuckles** Alan does it under protest!

I totally agree. As liberated as I think I am, I will TOTALLY play the chick card when it comes to taking out the garbage. And pretty much all yardwork. :)

yep!! Alan Says men take out the garbage because men have bad habits that they hide from the females they live with ((smoking etc etc)) and thus it gives them and excuse to indulge. Of course, men who don't hide their habits are thusly more reluctant to take out the garbage.

He has a good point... the schmuck. **chuckles** But I agree with the yardwork too, unless it's gardening.... that I like doing. heh.

I have to create some bad habits to justify *me* taking out the garbage, then, although I don't think the resident female gives a flying f*** about my vices. It's the principle of the thing...upholding the gender stereotypes, and all that.

Re: Feel free to comment with these things.

Heh... vices are encouraged, for the most part!

So, does this mean you're going to take out the garbage, or not???

(I talked the blonde beastie into doing it today...)

I am on a Yahoo group called freecycle for my local area. People get rid of stuff they don't want and take stuff other people have if they find something they want. You can have the person come to your house or meet you and get it. I have found and gotten rid of many items. I'm on the classified one too- where of course you have to pay for those. I got an aquatic turtle recently for our outdoor pond, but it took up and left on me before we could get the flowerbed area with enough fencing up. Herbie will be missed. My husband said he'd get me another one. This one was eleven years old. I put him in the bathtub one night because I saw him down our driveway one day, but he stayed for a few days out there after this incident. The fencing we had was not close enough together, so we bought some more that day, but by that evening he was gone. I wish I would have put him back in the house until we got back. He was in there that morning. Well, enough about Herbie. I only had him a few days, but I had fell in love with him. Just thought you might be interested in the freecycle site through yahoo groups.

I'm actually on the local Yahoo group for this here. Unfortunately, my stuff is of an EXTREMELY miscellaneous nature, and I haven't had good luck in the past posting "I got some stuff, come look through it and see if you want anything."

I'll probably do it, anyway, since it's worth a shot.
