Random Update-y-Ness
Dec. 3rd, 2005 06:31 amInterestingly enough,
blckwngdorcl, on his first try (it's a random generator, so I'm told) got his favorite flavor. On my first try, I got the first Ben & Jerry's ice cream I ever tasted. It's CV's, fault. ;)
Interestingly enough, I had a craving for it earlier, but when I ran into Kroger tonight, I wasn't anymore, so I picked something different.
In other news, turns out that my client wanted me come over tonight, so I opted to go to the bookstore. As is likely to be predicted, I picked up a copy of the first Nancy Drew book to read. I finished both it and the second book (of the same name as the movie last night) and read both. In neither was she the ditz of the movie. In fact, the only thing the movie had that was the least bit similar to the book were the main characters (Nancy, her father, and their housekeeper), the names of the sisters who owned the house (Flora and Rosemary Turnbull), the fact that the "hidden staircase" went from the Turnbulls' house to the house next door, and the fact that Nancy drove a comvertible. That's IT. I do think, to give them the slightest amount of credit, that Nancy's boyfriend in the movie had the same name as the boyfriend I remember her having in the (later) books. He wasn't mentioned in the first two, and in fact, Nancy had a brief and barely mentioned date with a guy with a different name entirely. Hmmph. Stupid Hollywood.
Oh, and I feel better today. :) As did my co-worker who threw up (and, as I later learned, also went home early). So, whatever it is, it's over pretty quick. I never did throw up. I'm hoping that's the end of it for me.
Seems like there was something else I wanted to write here... can't think of what, though... I'm just killing time while my food digests. :)
