thinkmonkey, although I'm not 100% sure of this. Plus, it was a slightly different link.
Anyway, apparently, these animals have officially been declared extinct recently. I was watching the films in the original link this morning, and was feeling very sad. I know there are more extinct animals than that, but, to the best of my knowledge, none have been officially declared extinct in my lifetime. I could be totally wrong about this... that's not the point, though. The point is, this is the first I've HEARD of one. The first time I've heard that some animal will really be no more on the face of this planet. I mean, yeah, I've heard of endangered species and all that, but there's a big part of me that just can't grasp that concept. I mean... if there are at least a mating pair, there'll be more, right? And what idiots would continue to fuck with endangered species, by either fucking with their habitat or hunting them, or whatever?
Sadly, I know the answer to that question.
