In the wake of several things happening in my life recently which have been fairly profound, and which I haven't entirely sorted out yet, I've been feeling strangely at peace for the past couple of days. I hope to make entries about these happenings later, hoping to feel so inclined, 'cause I work better when I can write it all out.
This morning, I woke up at a godawful hour (about 5am) after too little sleep, and couldn't fall asleep again. I had process group for Core today, and when I got grounded there, I could feel how exhausted I was. So, when I got home, I ate a little something, watched a little TV, and went to bed for a nap. After waking up, I have what is either a coming headache, a going headache, or a low-level headache. It's the kind of headache that doesn't really hurt on its own, but it holds the promise of debilitating pain. The kind you know the usual pills won't take care of.
lunenoire still has some Lortab left over from his surgery, so I took some of that, and the pain itself is gone, leaving something resembling an energetic footprint on the left side of my head. I wish we had narcotics in the house more often. I seem to be immune to the loopy effects of those types of drugs, so, for me, they're just good painkillers. Actually, in the long run, probably better for me than way-too-high doses of the over-the-counter stuff. I mean, sometimes I wonder what I'm missing as far as the more fun effects of those types of drugs, but it's pretty convenient that I can take that sort of stuff and still continue with my daily life without impairment. When I worked for the prison in Dwight, there were several of the inmates there that were taking Benadryl for its actual classification (which is a sedative-hypnotic), and took as much as 125 mg of it at a time. (That's 5 of the over-the-counter pills.) One day, feeling experimental (and very stuffy with allergies), I decided to see what a dose that high would do to me. *shrug* Nothing. I've taken high doses of Benadryl when I'm exhausted, and still don't get sleepy or otherwise loopy from it. Not even sure how effective it is for my allergies. I tend to become immune to allergy meds I take consistently after about 3 years, and benadryl has been around a long time. I'm sure I must have taken it a lot as a kid.
Anyway, none of that has anything to do with anything. The bunny trail is perhaps indicative of my mood, which, as I was planning on saying, is pretty blah. I woke up from my nap, feeling like I hadn't slept at all, or slept too much. I think I slept about one sleep cycle, woke up with that same not-sure-if-I've-slept-enough feeling, but not really wanting to sleep too much during the day to fuck my sleep cycle. I even woke up not being able to tell that
lunenoire and
blckwngdorcl were back from their astrology thing. Usually I can get a feel for when I'm in the house alone or if someone else is there, but I didn't know they were home until I heard one of them cough. So, I'm feeling something between tired and sick-ish, and not enough of either definitely to feel anything but the aforementioned blah.
blckwngdorcl felt sick the other day, but it was short-lived, so many it's something like that. Who knows...
Anyway, tomorrow is Original House of Pancakes followed by Harry Potter at what the blonde freak has dubbed the Big Purple Monster (the Regal 24, which I tried to find a link to that included a picture that would show why he's dubbed it that, but no luck). Hooray for that
lunenoire and his paycheck! :) I'm hoping that I feel better tomorrow, 'cause Original House is my current favorite breakfast obsession, and I totally wanna see the new Harry Potter movie. I also would love to re-read all the books in the series, although I haven't settled down to do that yet. I'm currently reading (at that
lunenoire's suggestion) Circus of the Damned. Which *frowning* I see from the website is actually the third in the series, not the first. Which is weird, 'cause it would seem to be the first, although there have been several times while reading it that it's referred to past events rather vaguely, in such a way as to imply that the reader should know more about them, and I thought it was interesting (if somewhat frustrating) for an author to make so many allusions to things without explaining them more. Like she had purposely started the series after the fact or something. Hmmmmmm...

OK... Survey Says!
Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter
Book 1: Guilty Pleasures
Book 2: The Laughing Corpse
Book 3: Circus of the Damned
Book 4: The Lunatic Cafe
Book 5: Bloody Bones
Book 6: The Killing Dance
Book 7: Burnt Offerings
Book 8: Blue Moon
Book 9: Obsidian Butterfly
Book 10: Narcissus in Chains
Book 11: Cerulean Sins
Book 12: Micah
Book 13: Danse Macabre (not yet published, so no Barnes and Noble link)
Well... that was probably pointless, and no one cares, but it did kill some time, and I feel somewhat more awake now, although not much less listless.
Oh... and this post (the first of several) was supposed to be to clean off my desktop... Ummm... which I totally haven't done. Anyway, all of that will have to be several separate posts.
So, um, on to that. :)
