lunenoire has asked us to pick him up from work tonight. MapQuest reveals that his place of work is 6.66 miles from our house, and should take 13 minutes of travel time. I am highly amused at this.
In wandering Barnes and Noble the other day, I saw a copy of
blyssmouse's
book on the shelf. I didn't know it was already done, published, and on the shelves! Not to mention on the shelves of a big bookstore like Barnes and Noble, since
her first book didn't make it (to the best of my knowledge) to the larger venues (at least at first, since it seems you can buy it on the Barnes and Noble website). Congratulations!!! (Did I mention I have a cameo in the first book? I'm allsortsa vain about it...)
blckwngdorcl and I went to his physical this morning, where he was appropriately pricked, poked, prodded, and pictured. Couple of things of minor concern, but nothing the doctor intends to worry about until his blood tests come back. While we were there, I got a copy of my labwork from my physical a while back. Everything is within normal limits except my cholesterol (the umbrella numbers, and the HDL/LDL), which is high. No surprise to me that this is the case, though. He actually gave me a prescription for it when I was there, I just haven't filled it yet. I'm notoriously noncompliant with pills I have to take every day, though, although I really do want to take this one. I also have another year's worth of official confirmation that I have no signs of HIV, cancer, and some other apparently bad thing that I didn't recognize the name of. Go me. I forgot to get a copy of my pap smear, but I'm guessing there were no problems with that, either, or they would have said something. I can always get a copy when we go back for
blckwngdorcl's paperwork. I always tell them to do a complete STD screen (although I'm not technically sure there is such a thing), so I'm assuming they're testing for whatever they can test for. Yeah, I'm careful, but I still like to have proof, y'know?
I'm in a pretty good mood today, and might be inclined to work on the house today/tonight. However, I think laundry must take precedence. Partially 'cause it needs to be done, and partially 'cause I got a package from Lane Bryant today (thank you, Dad!) with all sorts of yummies in it.
jupitercornwall has complained in the past that I don't wear jeans enough... well, I got several SWEET pairs. I may have to start using the term "clothes whore" on myself. *winks at
lunenoire* I'll be clearing some things out of my closet to make room, if anyone wants to pick through what I've got. Many things are in need of a stitch or two, but basically wearable. Otherwise, I'm hauling it off to the Salvation Army, although with some other stuff, that I hope ends up getting divied to the Katrina victims. If not, I still know it's going to someone who needs it. I also made a big mistake the other day... my client's wife has been extolling the virtues of
Marshalls forever, and I made the mistake of going in there, just to look around, while I had my last $25 in my purse. OK, so yeah, it got spent. But who can pass up a $7 pair of silk pants that were originally more than $100??? Plus an AWESOME shirt and a pair of black pants, which I really did need for work... So, yeah, I'm broke again.
Said client is ready for me to come back. Wednesday of this month, and every Saturday/Sunday of next month. Which is great, 'cause I miss them, and I've really been missing that income (soooo many important things are being unpaid right now...), but it's still going to be less than I was making before, by slightly less than $200. *sigh* I'll bring it up to him/them when I go there. We might be able to work something out. Now that I know what my schedule will be there, I can also go back to my other client. I need to call to arrange that. I CANNOT continue to run short each month like this.
OK, I was pretty close to ending this entry, anyway... but I just got a call from
lunenoire, who says he is in fact getting out of work on time, so he's gonna be taking the bus... we're compromising and meeting him at Lindbergh Station, in an effort to bribe him to take us out to CiCis for dinner. However, a subsequent phone call has informed us that the direct deposit hasn't gone in yet. We're still picking him up, just no pizza. Tomorrow, perhaps. :)
Anyway, that's all for now!
