The Good and the Bad
Feb. 1st, 2009 03:36 pmI'm caught up on LJ and email. Finally. Now all of you stop posting, so I can keep up indefinitely. :)
I found out about an hour ago that I've been directly exposed to meningitis. I work for ParaQuad tomorrow, so I gave them a call to see if I was supposed to show up for work or not under those circumstances. I told her I felt fine (which I do, although after I hung up and noticed for the umpteenth time how fucking cold I was, and looked at the thermostat and saw I had no reason to be that cold, I started thinking fever, and also suddenly remembered that I did, in fact, have a low-grade fever yesterday), and was willing to work, but after she made some calls, it was decided that I should go to the doctor tomorrow.
Any "symptoms" I think of at this point are probably the same type of thing when someone says "lice" and suddenly your head itches. But, you don't fuck with meningitis, either. So, off to the doctor I go. (No emergency room - no insurance)
I should point out that this particular case of meningitis was determined with a spinal tap. I soooooooooo hope that's not part of the "you're-now-cleared-to-return-to-work" process. *shudder*
