1. When I was little, a cat bit me hard enough to draw blood. For years, I really didn't like, and was somewhat afraid of, cats.
Definitely not true. I was actually bitten once by a dog hard enough to draw blood, but what I took from that is that one shouldn't try to pet a dog in a car, since they would likely feel territorial about that small space... not sure how old I was. I never mentioned it to anyone (except my cousin, who was with me when it happened) because I'd been told on numerous occassions not to pet strange animals. So, after that, I didn't - if they were in cars. It didn't diminish my love for dogs or other animals one bit. :)

2. My senior year in college, I thought I had enough credits to take almost no classes, so I didn't. Unfortunately, this resulted in a last minute scramble, in which I had to take a proficiency test in an easy class, to get my last *1* credit hour and graduate!
Also not true. I did, in fact, need very few credits my senior year to graduate, and my last semester, I took only one class (with two parts) to graduate. I had a 4-day weekend, a car, and lived only 3 hours from home. Life was good.

3. My first husband and I used to play card games as foreplay. Whoever lost (best 3 of 5) went down on the other. (Hey, everyone's a winner!)
Not true, but certainly sounds like something we'd do. Usually, we didn't need an excuse for sex. :)

4. My somewhat-prudish mother used to always tell me, with a faraway look in her eyes, to marry an Italian. I was too young to have any clue why she would suggest that.
Not even CLOSE to being true.

5. A few months ago, driving on 400, I saw some sort of zoo/circus truck thingy, with a really tall trailer - I could just barely see the giraffe inside!
Not true, either... but it made me wonder, just what DO they transport giraffes in?

6. When I was in high school, I went to a mall, and there was thing travelling show thing, where they'd let you hold exotic animals and get your picture taken. I got to hold a lion cub and a tiger cub. I still have the pictures!
True, as userinfoSpy_Isis guessed. Now, I kinda feel bad, and wonder how the animals were treated, and such. But it was a cool experience for me, and they were so CUTE!!!

Online chat, re-living good memories, two cats curled up next to me as I type, clarity in my own mind about where I stand...

Life is good.

Hey, has anyone noticed they keep referring to a LiveJournal in recent Sluggy strips? Does anyone know anything about this? Is there a real LJ for Pete or any of his characters? I'd love to be on that list...

Impatience

I'm waiting on the buffet/hutch/breakfront/whatever you call it from my grandpa. My dad was finally able to piggyback it on the truck of some movers that were going this way. And, while I've waited MONTHS for it, and it's no big deal that the people who said they'd be here in an hour and a half are half an hour late (so far), it does make it somewhat difficult, 'cause I don't wanna start any new projects until they get here.

*sigh*

Lazy enough...

But my buffet came, and is sitting in its proper place in the kitchen (thanks, Grandpa!), although I haven't really figured out how I want the stuff put in/on it yet.

I put together the table that userinfoDai_Syn bought, so there may be gaming here soon. Jesus fucking CHRIST, it's huge!!! Also, unlike my desks which I bought from there, this isn't particle board, it's solid fucking WOOD, and HEAVY. There was a piece that didn't have the right holes punched in it, so I couldn't attach it, but it's a mostly incidental piece, and userinfoDai_Syn says he can fix it, anyway.

I've done laundry, some of the garbage, dishes... petted the cats.

Life is good. :)
