Golden Eagle: My first totem. I was sitting inblckwngdorcl's bedroom, minding my own business, when I got the sudden and distinct impression of being pecked rapidly in the face. I could almost "hear" a "HEY!! Pay attention!!!" followed immediately by a vivid picture in my mind of a golden eagle turning to profile, and holding very still, in a regal pose, as if to make sure I saw him.
Cougar: My second totem. During a meditation, I met a cougar who told me he was my totem. I was confused. I told him I thought the golden eagle was my totem. "He is. So am I."
Barn Owl: My third totem, it would seem. Remember this post? I was in a bookstore the other day, and had a chance to pick up Animal Speak, since I can't find my own copy. As I was reading it, and it was talking about owls, I started to get this... feeling. And it mentioned different types of owls that are totems, and even before it gave the descriptions of what each represents, I had that feeling about barn owls. And sure enough, when it came to that description, it was exactly what I was talking about in that post. Channeling, among other things. So, yeah. It was a portent. Interesting to see what this will bring.
Tiger: In addition to being the mascot of my high school in my home town (It didn't look that nice when I was there, folks! That building wasn't even built yet...), in the meditation I mentioned above, with the cougar, shortly after I met him, I became a tiger, and we mated. Later, with no knowledge of this,elorie said she saw tiger-related stuff with me. (I don't remember what she said, exactly... I tried looking to see if I'd made an entry on it, but apparently I didn't. I remember that she did, but I don't feel like looking for it.) And I think it's come up at other times, as well.
Anyway, just thought I'd clarify why those are there. I'll use them periodically, but not sure exactly when I'll use each. Someday I might associate them with specific posts, but for now, notsomuch. I'll probably just use them now and again to show them off. ;)
(The icon I'm using now is a Jean Grey icon I stole from a quiz I took several entries back. I actually emailed the author to get permission to use it. He never got back with me, so I stole it anyway.) :)
