It's a long-standing joke. He and I both have crazy schedules. The last time I tried to call him (months ago) he never called me back. So I called a few more times, so I finally (quite melodramatically) said that if he didn't call me back, he MUST hate me. He didn't, so now I've been lamenting to everyone in that circle of friends that he hates me. Complete with back-of-hand-stapled-to-forehead, and oh-woe-is-me voice.
No one, least of all me, really believed it. We're actually very close, when we actually get the chance to be around each other. So, he just happened to call tonight, and I got the OFFICIAL word that I'm not hated. ;)
