No Rest for the Wicked
Sep. 14th, 2004 02:01 amSilly me. It wasn't my day off at all. They had me scheduled for 3 more shifts. And no let-up in the visits, except that ParaQuad set up other nurses to do them for next week. I'm only scheduled for one visit per day, which is the same visit I was doing before this other stuff started.
And his doctor STILL hasn't prescribed 24-hour nursing care.
Can you say AAARRRGGGHHH!!!?
On one hand, I'm relieved, 'cause I get more rest. On the other, I'm upset. If I'm mentally prepared for this craziness, I can do it. And it's a lot of money, which I'll apparently be giving up this week. *sigh* Damned if ya do... Of course,
blckwngdorcl made it clear that if I were to take on additional shifts this week, it would be without his approval. Which, while it sounds all bossy and patriarchal, really means that he's really worried about me, how much work I've been doing, how much sleep I haven't been getting, and the fact that I was in tears on more than one occassion tonight when I actually ended up having to go to work.
Since we had the time and money, we decided (well, I kinda decided, and who can resist? although he tried...) to go to the Melting Pot. He had made a comment earlier, which I don't remember verbatim, but something to the effect that, if I was that miserable doing all this work, all the money in the world wouldn't equal prosperity. So, I figured splurging with some of the extra and actually sitting down, ignoring the time, and enjoying ourselves, would be well worth it, and a good thing.
It was. The Melting Pot, in general, just fucking rocks, and I really couldn't beat the company. *gazes adoringly at pre'y husband*
Anyway, I'm up much too late, and I'm much too tired, and I have an interview in the morning. Which is the reason I'm on the computer in the first place. I needed hard copies of my resume' and references, and the lovely
simplysakka has once again availed me of her printer. As well as this posting. Thanks, sweetie! :)
(
spy_isis and
toguspyder, I didn't know
dai_syn's address for a reference, so I just used yours, and his phone number.
fornorald, I didn't know your new address, so I just used the address of the apartment complex, with your phone number.)
