I'm responding to both Biblical end times post in this one response. This is nothing new. The Bible and Christianity are not the only paths that teach these are the end times. The Mayan calendar ends in 2012. The Hindus believe that we are in the end times, which they call the Kali Yuga, in honor of their goddess of destruction. (I'm simplifying this greatly, as Kali has many other aspects, including that of creation, but that's for another discussion.) In both these cases, their texts on this subject pre-date Christian (and, if I'm not mistaken, also Judiac) sources. Nostradamus said the same thing. The propecies for the end times are, in each case, remarkably similar. Whether each tradition copied from an older tradition, or if different people of different faiths were blessed with these visions in different places at different times, I cannot say. But I think very few people would argue with you that there is a pretty rich body of spiritual literature suggesting we are in the end times.
