OK, OK, I'm Awake
Apr. 1st, 2004 06:57 amBLEH!
Speaking of bleh,
blyssmouse, do you have a copy of the Baby Mozart VHS or DVD? I got to watch it with my great nephew when I was in Indiana, and I am COMPLETELY ENAMOURED of that little green dragon puppet that goes "Bleh!" in the video. I've decided I must have an animated icon of him for LJ.
walkingbear has offered to capture it if I can find a copy of it. I imagine
gaeasson could do it, too. I'm not picky. Just gimme an icon! :) (Anyone else who has this video, please let me know, too, just in case.)
OK, I SOOOO did not want to wake up this morning. I laid down yesterday at about 6pm for a nap or something, and probably would have slept all night, except that
blckwngdorcl woke me up around 11pm. Check out this entry on his LJ for details. Cute little bastards. And they didn't even try to bite me! :) At any rate, I don't think I was able to get back to sleep until after 2am, which is all well and good, except that I was supposed to be up at 5am. I hit the snooze. Lots.
But, I am, in fact, showered, fully dressed, and awake in the most literal sense of the word. I have my cell phone and my handy-dandy pager next to me in case I get called in, and, with any luck, I'll be doing lots of stuff in LJ today.
That is, in fact, the plan. There might also be some coffee involved at some point.
Many thanks to
keiracaitlyn! I've much enjoyed reading my daily metasymbology cards. I've gotten a couple of two of hearts cards this past week, and/or
blckwngdorcl did, and that seems to pretty much be the state of things. :)
Hopefully, it's not going to rain all day today, so I can take the cats outside. Plus re-bait the live trap, so we can catch our intended victim. :)
Snippet of a dream from last night:
blckwngdorcl and I were in a car, being driven by my friend Johnny from Illinois (who looked nothing like himself). I was in the back seat on the passenger side, and there appeared to be a bunch of stuff in the seat next to me, as if we had packed a bunch of stuff. I got the impression we were a ways from home, and we needed all that stuff, since we didn't have access to the house. Anyway, we went to this busy-ish gas station with a drive-up ATM, and were going there to take money out for something. When we pulled up, there were already several bills sticking out of it, so we pulled those out. I was trying to digest this, realizing that someone must have driven away without their money, but there didn't seem to be anyone around, so I was sort of guiltily and nervously (and silently) praising our good fortune. In the meantime, I think we went ahead and took out the money we had planned on taking out. While we were doing this, a couple pulled up in a black car. They'd already been around, but hadn't made any indication they were interested in us or what we were doing. However, the guy stormed up to our window, which was still open from getting the money. The woman with him was obviously little more than his shadow. She had the look of someone who didn't really agree with what he was doing (or, more accurately, how he was doing it), and was trying to clandestinely look apologetic on his behalf, while at the same time, being very afraid of him, and not wanting him to notice. Anyway, the guy, very angrily and very quickly, shoved his hand through our window towards
blckwngdorcl, who was holding the money that we had taken. He handed it over without a fight, and the guy flipped through the money, with those same angry, quick motions. When he was done counting it, he seemed satisfied. He gave a big, rather frightening grin, and reached through the window to shake
blckwngdorcl's hand. One didn't argue with him, that was obvious, so
blckwngdorcl complied. He then reached over to Johnny. For some reason, I got the impression that he hadn't really trusted Johnny. He reached for his hand, but instead of shaking it, made like he was separating his fingers out, so that he could break one of them. We all sort of sat there, frozen, but he ended up only miming the action. He then reached back for me, past all the stuff that was packed. I don't remember what he did to me, but it was fairly benign. Almost immediately after he pulled his hand away, Johnny left. He didn't peel outta there, but he definitely hurried. He was responding to the sudden sense of danger surrounding that guy that I think we were all feeling. Luckily, the guy didn't appear to have followed us, and we went on to our destination. Which was, apparently, this hotel/restaurant where we were meeting my parents and some other members of my extended family. I remember my mom saying something about we were all about to go do something soon, so we needed to hurry. I remember shooting a guilty look at
blckwngdorcl. I knew he had wanted to do something else before we did what my mom was suggesting, and I knew that it was my own lack of planning that was preventing us from having the time to do so, and I knew this wasn't the first time I had let him down that way. I think I woke up about then.
