Just enjoying my day today. Just got out of the shower... those kind that are long, luxourious, and almost too hot for comfort, so that when you finally open the bathroom door and the cooler air of the rest of the house hits your skin, it's oh-so-wonderfully-refreshing. One of my favorite simple pleasures.
Some things I'm NOT doing today:
I'm not forcing myself to catch up on reading LJ entries (way behind) before making this post, or any other. Almost always, when I do so, I no longer have the time/inclination to post by the time I'm done.
I'm not forcing myself to do anything about the house. It's messy, moreso than usual, because something happened in the beginning of the week where (apparently) there was some screw-up, with the sprinkler system (?). At any rate, it left our apartment flooded. Luckily,
BlckwngdOrcl caught it early, so the damage was minimized, but it still meant moving two rooms of furniture into the nebulous "elsewhere" of the apartment for a few days while those bigass fans blared and the apartment smelled HORRIBLE. As of yesterday, the carpets are fixed, and the smell has magically gone away, but only a little bit of the furniture has been moved back. Ironically, this all happened the day after I finally finished doing all the little things that needed done to make those sections of the house look *just right*, like actually organizing the CDs and the tools, etc..
Things I AM doing today:
Going to the bank, and going to pay some bills.
Going to the grocery store, assuming
BlckwngdOrcl and I feel like it. We could go another day, really. It's on the agenda, though.
Making dinner. 'Cause I can.
Petting my kittens, and loving on them. *glances at the cat currently draped across my arms as I type this*
And that's really about it for my agenda. Tomorrow I have a photo shoot with a local artist, whose website, assuming he has one, I'm too lazy to look up to link to. It's a photo shoot that's a prelude to a painting, and I'm really looking forward to that. Also curious as to how other people do this sort of thing, since I've only experienced it with
WalkingBear before. The day after that, I have a date with
WalkingBear and
Strega42. So, my weekend's kinda busy. Next Sunday I have a dinner date with
Dai_Syn, as we've somehow developed a "traditional" around-Valentine's-Day dinner, quite by chance. I'm going to be careful to keep my other days free, though, 'cause I really do want to spend time working on the house and getting it perfect again. Thanks to the combined efforts of my mother and David's wife, I am now the proud owner of an Oreck vacuum, with which I am well-pleased. I even use it sometimes! :) Anyway, the house needs very little work to put it together. Then I think I'm going to get all my stuff out of the storage bin and save $50/month. That will help our finances, and I like having all my stuff close at hand, anyway.
So, that being said, I'm off.
