I called in sick to Sedona this morning. I had thought last night that I was sick. David went to the Falcons pre-season game last night, and so they just called me when they were on their way home, which woke me up from a nap (which is how I had planned it). But I woke up feeling like I'd been hit by a truck - headache, nausea, overally shittiness. I even took my temperature while I was there - 98.6, which is actually a little high for me, but not really at that time of night, given biorhythms/circadian cycles and all that. So, I figured I was just tired.
This morning, headache was worse (don't remember if I was nauseous or not), and I was EXTREMELY photosensitive. So much so I had my husband email my co-workers and tell them I wasn't coming in, 'cause I couldn't handle sitting in front of the computer screen. We even closed the blinds in the bedroom, which I don't think we've done since we moved here. I used the headache pillow that
SimplySakka had gotten us for a gift, and it was lovely, and kept the light out of my eyes, and smelled good. The usual 800mg ibuprofen didn't help.
BlckwngdOrcl had some sort of sample for migraines that had been given to him by a co-worker, so I downed that, and went back to bed. I woke up around 2pm, I think, and I'm clearly better enough to sit in front of the computer. I can't tell if the pain is completely gone or not. I feel kinda wiped, still, though. I had some tea and toast (which is what my mother always gave me when I was sick, sans the cinnamon/sugar I put on it), and I think I'll be brave enough to eat something more substantial soon. For the most part, though, I think I'll take it easy today. Laundry and TV sounds just about right.
