OK, sorry... I made my last post half-assed, as I was going out the door. Let me clarify:
I'm trying to be somewhat more social. This presumably means that I might be having sex, likely with people who aren't surgically "safe", as my husband is. This means I'm going to have to start paying attention to my cycle again... when I ovulate, and whatnot. 'Cause I have no desire to be pregnant in my current circumstances (i.e., can't stay home). I don't use artificial birth control - I just don't have penetrative sex around the time I ovulate; this has worked for me since 1988.
So, I found this handy-dandy graph-thingy to predict when one is ovulating (presumably on day 14 of one's cycle. Except, of course, it's rare for people to have a perfect 28-day cycle to begin with. Also, I seem to have this thing where I'll spot briefly for a day, then it'll stop, then it'll actually fully kick in a couple of days later. So, I'm never really sure what to call Day 1. So, I downloaded the graph thing for my user info page, and last month, I set day one for the day I did that spotting. I ovulated on day 15, according to that (not too far off!), and today, I started that spotting thing, on day 26. So, I'm not sure if I should reset day one for today, or see if I start fully on the day the ticker says day 1, or just what. Basically, right now, I'm kind of experimenting with it, seeing how my cycle works, since I haven't really been paying attention in a while. And the little ticker thing just satisfies my inner geek.
So, I'm not trying to conceive - just the opposite, in fact. But I am trying to get better in tune with my cycles in general, and that's never a bad thing, under any circumstances.
