Hmmmm.... I used to have strep almost CONSTANTLY in college.
Usually, though, I don't feel sick when I have strep. Hell, the only reason I even know it's a potential issue is 'cause, years ago, I had a sore throat for several days... no other symptoms at all... felt fine. Anyway, I happened to look at my throat in the rear-view mirror of my car one day, 'cause it was still hurting pretty bad, and I just wanted to see how red it was. When I saw that it was pretty coated in white shit, I freaked out. (This was WAY before my nursing days.) I went to the doctor, and the second she looked at my throat, she backed up about 3 steps and said I had the worst case of strep she'd ever seen. And went on to tell me all the reasons why that was a big deal. I'm pretty careful about sore throats that last any length of time nowadays. It is scary, though, since I don't get the usual symptoms, so I don't always realize I'm sick.
On the other hand... the mildest of sinus infections will knock me on my ass. Go figure.
