Not Much to Say...
Oct. 5th, 2008 11:05 amWell, I'm awake. So far so good, really. I've given Murke his medicine, fed the cats, washed the sheets, made and eaten breakfast, and am now sitting in front of the computer with a cup of tea, relaxing a bit while my food digests, so I figured I'd give an update.
Tomorrow is our 6th wedding anniversary. Technically, it's today, but we always celebrate on the 6th, since that's when we would have been married if the venue had been available. :)
We're even more broke than usual, so we're pretty much staying home all day tomorrow, but we're going to concentrate on spending time being close, not just doing things in parallel (although some of that is planned, too). I'm looking forward to it.
The Beastie's at work right now, and when I get done with the computer/relaxing/digesting part of my day, I'm going to clean the house. We cleaned the helloutta the kitchen and living room last week, so those just need quickies, and I worked on my side of the office, so that won't need much... it'll just be the two bathrooms that will take a while. Mostly 'cause it's that time again when I decide that the only way to get the floors really clean is do the hands-and-knees with a bucket thing. So, notsomuch looking forward to that, but definitely looking forward to the results.
On the job front,
BlckwngdOrcl is still at Pike's, and I'm still with David at nights. ParaQuad has been giving me NO hours, which hugely sucks. I was supposed to have a client that would have covered me through the end of October, but he up and decided to go with another company. I'll start working at Maxim Healthcare next week, though, although I have no idea what kind of hours they can give me. Also need to fax some info to CareMasters to update my records, so they can offer me hours. So, technically, I have 4 jobs at this point, although 2 are sorta pending. And still no hours/money. Not good.
I've also looked more closely into returning to school to get my RN. Maybe I'm just not looking in the right places, but there are surprisingly few options. The only online option is an LPN-to-BSN from Indiana University. From an online college, I don't really want a BSN option. Granted, I have enough credits I could transfer over to NOT make that take as long as I would fear, but still. The whole draw for an online option is that I can get it over with quickly. And, strangely enough, I couldn't find too many options for brick-and-mortar places to take classes, either. Like, only 2 that were viable options. Georgia State and Emory. Emory, of course, costs TEN FUCKING TIMES what Georgia State costs, but it's still the better school, and still the one I'd prefer to go to. Which leads me back to needing to get a job there to be able to pull that off. Their program is also a BSN program, but I wouldn't mind doing that from that school. It's a 2-year program, and I finally found where it said that they WOULD give credit for prior nursing classes. So, I might be able to do it more quickly. But, again, need the job there.
I'm doing some marketing work for Pam, to offset the cost of my classes/therapy, so that helps some. It's kinda interesting, and will no doubt help me out when I decide to go full bore with the animal communication, even though that's on the back burner for a while now.
Anyway, that's about it. Nothing much is new.
