Shampoo-Less???
May. 14th, 2007 07:53 amIn a few rare stolen moments this morning, I did a little LJ reading, back about 150 posts or so, and saw some threads about going shampoo-less. Since I trust my friends, and y'all are generally quicker to respond and more useful than internet searching (which would require more stolen moments), I was wondering if someone could explain this to me.
I mean, do you just stop washing your hair, or what? I so don't get it. It does not help that I'm very vain about my mop, and even if it looks like shit, I'm freaky about the texture - must feel like silk, not like straw, and I've experimented often with using non-shampoo products on my hair (including Dr. Bonners) and it always comes out like straw. Totally unacceptable for me. It also doesn't help that my mom is a cosmetologist, and all I have to do is walk into her house, and she'll take one look at me and pronounce that I've "been using cheap shampoo again", and she's always right. And my hair does look and feel like shit when I use the cheap stuff.
I certainly like the idea of going more natural, but so not willing to compromise on texture. Also, my hair get real frizzy, real fast. (Ditto my husband's hair, if we were to both try this...)
Help?
