Oh Nooooo....
Sep. 27th, 2004 06:17 pmI just had a disturbing thought... I was reading
allicat42's latest post on geek guys (VERY funny, by the way... I recommend it!), and figured I was pretty good in the geek factor as far as Star Trek went, 'cause I've been watching it since I was a child.
I had to admit, however, that when I was a child, it wasn't really my idea to watch it. I only watched it because it was what my dad had on TV. I didn't learn to appreciate it until much later.
Let's back up here a second.
I only watched it because it was what my dad had on TV.
my dad
*blinkblink*
Either this is just a strange anomaly, or my father really was a geek in the making, or a closet geek, that somehow got caught up on white-collar corporate America, with my Better Homes and Gardens mom encouraging it.
Excuse me, I think I have to go slice my wrists now.
OK, not really.
But damn... I've often thought there's a lot more to my dad that he gave up for his family, but... *sigh* If that's the case, it's really sad.
