My Version of a Break
Sep. 10th, 2004 10:25 amI'm in the home stretch. This makes me happy. I'm currently at
chalice66's, helping with the twins, who are asleep (although Autumn is restless), as is their mother. It's been a while since they've slept this long between feedings, so I'm taking advantage. I caught up again on LJ... even got to read my metasymbology card. Truth be told, I cheated on my catchup reading by not looking at any pics (well, I looked at
feygirl's DragonCon pics), and skipping the metasymbology cards. I can't remember what day is what anymore, anyway. I think the only reason I have any idea what the dates are is because I write it on the dressing I put on my client's foot every night. And even then I'm sketchy.
I'm really wanting to sit down and write. I feel a "feast" day brewing in my LJ writings. Now, whether or not this will happen soon remains to be seen. I started one of the books for the Core classes this morning as I ate breakfast. I only got through the author's introduction, and was in tears more than once.
blckwngdorcl says I get more emotional (thankfully, not necessarily more bitchy) around my period, so I expect that to happen soon. Strangely enough, I weep for him, and his childhood. Not for mine, never for mine. I noticed that in the workshop last weekend, too. In a group of people, I'm all about their problems, never my own. I also had a few revelations which I'll post later.
Borders and my brief times with
blckwngdorcl have been my salvation during this time. Helping with the twins has also been relaxing. I've gotten very fond of drinking the poison of the day, and curling up with a trashy novel. Which, by the way, is why I didn't call you last night,
elorie - the allure of V.C. Andrews and pumpkin spice chai was entirely too seductive. It's the only me time I really get, so I treasure it.
Did I mention the pumpkin spice chai? Borders has had pumpkin spice coffee this time of year for as long as I can remember, but I've never seen the chai before this year. I *heart* it, as
isarma would say.
Another thing I *heart* is XM radio. Any type of radio where the DJs, the callers, and the artists can freely and frequently say "fuck" is my kinda radio. All hail Squizz!
Since I don't have time to actually make the entries, here are a list of upcoming topics for all of you to look forward to:
(In no particular order, and in no particular promise of timely entry)
New Car Angst
Core Energetic Workshop Weekend
(to include dissertations on group process and how I suck at it, why I hate exercise, and how sometimes you just have to cry over those things you can't control, among other things)
Jobs: Comprehensive List, Explanation, and Where I'm Going With It/Them Now
On Raising a Child to Say "Fuck You!"
Also, likely entries to follow on any Core Energetic homework I have. Anything I write there, I'll likely add to this, as well. Although, more likely, I plan on creating a Core Energetics community. No one else at the workshop was on LiveJournal, which was a shame. I did try to point them to
gaeasson's community, though, since the nudity thing came up. Just doing my part to spread the word! :)
Oh, in good news, and kind of in keeping with the job entry I made, above, I got hired on at Inner Harbour in Rockmart (yeah, I know, Rockmart). I start training on October 11. I'm gonna be doing PRN work there, so no clue how much or how often I'll work, but at least it's another option. Ideally, my current client will be switched back to 24-hour nursing care on Monday. I've already told them I want the Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday 1900-0700 shift if that happens. That's the only full-time position I can take that doesn't interfere with the Core classes. But it would be full time, it would be steady, and it would only be 3 days per week, which will allow me lots of time to pursue other part time jobs. What I really need is the equivalent of two such full-time positions. 6 12-hour shifts per week would really be perfect, if I can pull that off. It pays all my bills, all my classes, and allows some to go towards debt, as well. Then we can use
blckwngdorcl's money like we've been wanting to for some time now - savings and leisure, as well as our membership to Cosmos Fitness. Speaking of which, isn't it ironic how I've had all these excuses in the past, about no time, no money, no whatever, to get out of joining a health club... and once we figured out how to budget it, and set up a schedule for doing it, I got this fucked up schedule and work, and now I really literally DON'T have the time?
By the way... I got my first paycheck for a full week of this crazy schedule (and it wasn't even a full week, 'cause of the workshop).
$950 and some change. For a WEEK.
Oh yeah. THAT'S why I'm killing myself with this schedule.
