Politics Survey Ganked from
profundis
Jul. 30th, 2004 05:16 amI'm tired and didn't give too much thought to these answers... plus, I'm feeling a little cranky and cynical.
The Ultimate Politics Survey
Describe your stance on:
Abortion: I'd rather it be legal than not. I also wish it didn't happen so often.
Affirmative Action: A good idea, but it kinda sucks in actual practice.
Age of Consent: I have mixed feelings on this. This would be a long long post that I'll probably never make.
Animal Testing: There's GOT to be a better way nowadays.
Death Penalty: I waffle on this one. Haven't quite nailed my own views down yet.
Downloading Music/Movies: If only I had a bigger hard drive and a faster processor...
Drug Decriminalization: Yes... Now... ALL of them.
Factory Farming: Again, got to be a better way. But
profundis is right - they wouldn't exist if there weren't a demand...
Free Trade: ...is something I vaguely remember being taught in 5th grade. As such, I don't have an educated opinion, or much of one at all.
Funding of Arts: Equal with funding of everything else
Gay Marriage: Yes, and every other kind of marriage, too... although
paganbear has some really compelling arguments about abolishing marriage altogether
Gun Control: I'm in favor of waiting periods, but that's about it.
Immigration: I like the poem on the Statue of Liberty.
Hardcore Pornography: Often.
Human Cloning: Hmmmm.... not sure... my mind can't quite wrap itself around the implications of it. As such, it makes me very uncomfortable.
Miltary Draft: I dunno... I go back and forth between no fucking way and wanting to do it like Israel - but for men and women equally.
Minimum Wage: I'd prefer something more like a minimum standard of living...
Prostitution: Legal, regulated, and safe
School Vouchers: Not well-versed on this... I recall from my initial looksee that it seemed on the surface like a good thing, but I didn't delve deep...
Taxes: Hate 'em. Can't the government just open a few casinos?
United Nations: I like the idea, although they could probably use some new blood...
Universal Health Care: I want the best of both worlds... quality, timely, affordable (preferably free) healthcare for everyone, period
War on Terrorism: Maybe if that's what it actually was... but even then... I'm still optimistic and naive enough to believe there's got to be a better way than war
Welfare: Extremely limited, and more in the form of education and jobs
