I almost feel bad making this post, 'cause I'm kinda not in the mood to be introspective, and I'm not sure when blckwngdorcl's class is going to be over, at which point I have to go pick him up.

Speaking of which, as a shameless plug, as well as a way to put off a post that I'm not in the mood to make, but kinda wanna make anyway, let me digress for a second. :)


The place that blckwngdorcl is currently at The Knowledge Shop, which basically just has a bunch of classes. Luckily, classes in subjects that can really help him do what he wants to do, and some fun stuff, and other generally useful things. He and I went there last week and got a family membership for $75/year, which isn't bad at all, and the classes themselves seem to be pretty reasonable. And, for us, it's pretty fabulous, 'cause it's literally within walking distance (not that I would, but, just in case). ;) This will be the first class either of us have gone to, so I suppose I'll wait for him for an actual review, but the place seems cool, with a great variety of classes. But, it seems like a good thing, so I thought I'd pass it along.

Just When I Think It Can't Get Any Worse...

I was just talking to my cousin online. We were just catching up. I don't talk to him often, 'cause we really don't have a whole lot in common, but he was commenting on a Nativity Festival that was going on in his local area. Apparently, it's a church fest. Let me just share with you an excerpt of this conversation:

bookofmirrors : Ah... where's it at?

LJ-Less Cousin Mark : the fest is on willowcreek in portage not far from where we used to live on eleanor st.

bookofmirrors : Oh, yeah, I remember where that is

bookofmirrors : Portage must be getting pretty popular to be having festivals there :)

LJ-Less Cousin Mark : it has a beer garden gambling food booths carnival rides and bingo

LJ-Less Cousin Mark : almost 10,000 people over the weekend goes

I didn't even notice the part about the gambling until I started making this entry... I was still flabbergasted about the beer.
