Cause for Concern?
Feb. 6th, 2004 06:16 amThis was on an egroup I'm on... I haven't been able to keep up with much lately, and this is the first I've heard of it. I'm not entirely sure of the veracity of it, and one of the replies to the post stated that they were unable to authenticate it. However, if it is even a little bit true, it bears passing on:

Subject: Faith Based Religions
Well, as most of you know Bush has no regard for our belief structure, nor
anyone else for that fact and he is quite open about it. So, he intends to
amend the Constitution regarding your right to freedom of religion. He wants
to amend the Constitution to allow only marriage between a man and a
woman,and take this issue out of the hands of the courts, but added to this
amendment is the following:
"The only faith based religions are Christianity, Islam and Judism, the
Cross, the Star of David and the Crescent".(Mr Bush's words) Only these
faith based religions will be recognized and only these will have protection
under the Constitution and only these will be able to receive federal
monies!
On this past Sunday, every Christian based TV show is asking people to fill
out a survey that will be mailed to every member of the House and Senate,
they want you to let your lawmakers know that you support this amendment!
Please let your representatives know that we as a free people will not
tolerate this amendment and that our freedom to practice the faith of our
choice must not be taken away!
If this amendment defines "faith-based religions" as the three recognized by
Bush, and these three are allowed to define the moral status of this
country, what comes next. Will pagans be determined to go against the moral
terpitude of the faith based beliefs, and if so, would pagans then fall
under the patriot act!!!!
You can email/call/write your representatives and let your voice be heard if
you value your right to freedom of Religion.
