I don't think jb_27 intended to start a meme, but here it is anyway.

"I explicitly invite anybody who's wondering about a particular rumor that they've heard about me to contact me and ask me if it's true. Even if it's something that I'm not proud of, I'd rather that you had the ugly facts compared to an ugly rumor (that could get uglier). I present this as a meme in the hopes that it will lessen the ambient drama, rather than increasing it.

If you want to defuse your own rumors, just copy this into your own journal, ad nausium, ad infinitum, yadda yadda, you know the drill...

Now, the funny thing is, there seems to be some issues about rumor and drama, from what I can gather from other LJs. Having been out of the social loop for so long, I don't know anything about that, or even if that's true. (Does that make it a RUMOR???)

Anyway, I thought this would be kinda cool. I'm always nosy to see what's being said about me, anyway, although I pretty much doubt I'll get responses from this. I just haven't been out there enough to have people saying shit about me, I'm guessing.

So, go for it. Anonymous comments are (and always have been) allowed, and I've never tracked IP addresses, so if you feel more comfortable doing it that way, feel free.
