Housecleaning
Sep. 25th, 2004 08:17 amWell, most of the upstairs is done. By which I mean, all the dusting in the living room and dining room is done, and everything that requires wood cleaner in the kitchen. I haven't done the rest of the kitchen at all, and I haven't done any of the floors, nor de-cat-haired the couches. So, really, it doesn't seem like I've gotten much done. However, the kitchen isn't scarydirty or anything like that. Just a couple of dishes in the sink, and the stuff in the dishwasher is clean, so I can pretty much just clean off the counters and be done with it.
Except the floors. I hate vacuuming, and I hate mopping, even with my kickass FloorMate. Granted, I hate it much LESS, but still.
liljuice likes to vacuum, but he's working right now, after having had no sleep, so he can't do it right now, and I couldn't, in good conscience, ask him to do it when he gets home. And I don't want to wait that long, anyway. So, I'm stuck doing it, once I convince myself of it. I can't even use the excuse that
blckwngdorcl is asleep, since we both agreed that, with all the white noise in our bedroom, me running the vacuum downstairs will likely not wake him. So, no reprieve there.
Of course, I've never liked doing floors to begin with. Keep in mind that my mother is such a freak about it that the lines in the carpet created by the vacuum cleaner had to be parallel. People wonder why I'm such a freak about the house being clean. I have the worst of both worlds, I think. I can let the house get scarydirty (by my standards) for weeks on end, then I lose my mind and clean everything. According to pretty much anyone who's been around during the process, I'm a raving psychobitch when I clean. But I think the reason I really despise doing the floors now is 'cause my cats have made them much filthier than they ever need to be. *sigh* I think there's been an improvement, but it's hard to tell after all this time.
Anyway, I'm gonna surf a little bit and get back to it. Really, with having gotten up so early, I am ahead of the game as far as getting done in a reasonable time. Must remember that.
