FYI

Just so ya know...

In our house meeting the other day, we all agreed to dump the land line at the house, so if anyone needs to get in touch with me, use my cell phone number. eMail me if you need the number - my electrondreams address works again (Hooray [livejournal.com profile] walkingbear! Hooray drak.net!). Also be aware that I keep my cell phone in my purse, and it's always set on vibrate, 'cause all ring tones annoy the fuck outta me, so you're very likely to end up leaving a message, but I will call you back when I get the message, so please leave one.

Thanks!

Messages through Cingular...

I don't know which service you use, but I thought you'd like to know that Cingular has had a nasty habit recently of queing "Urgent" VM messages for up to 3 days before finally delivering... and non-"Urgent" messages can take up to 5 days to deliver... So without a ring tone, you may find your self picking up a lot of VMs that say "Hi! We wanted to go to lunch with you 5 days ago" or something similar.

In addition, if the standard ringtones are a problem, go out to RingToneJukebox.com and pick one that's not so offensive. They charge $1-2 per download. You can generally find at least one that's not too annoying.

We've got AT&T Wireless, and getting the voicemails quickly hasn't ever seemed to be a problem. However, either because of the service, or the phone features, it doesn't time/date stamp them, either, which is kinda annoying (so leave that information when you call).

It's not really standard ringtones. It's ANY ringtones. I hate 'em all. Although very very recently, I've heard some phones (which probably have mp3 player capability, which mine doesn't) that actually have something reasonably soothing. Maybe when I upgrade my phone... :)
