Update, Sorta

See, the reason I haven't posted an update lately is 'cause I just haven't been in the mood. Fact is, I'm not really in the mood to do it now, either, but I promised I would, and there are a few things I want to mention, so I might as well put them in here while I'm waiting for the Beastie to get home.

*pause for snack*

OK, so quick update. The house is still clean, although I haven't dusted this weekend. It's fine, though, and not bad at all. Still no luck on the vacuuming, and my attempt at the office today to borrow an office vacuum met with no success. So, clean house, dirty floors. Well, dirty carpets, anyway. The tile floors are fine. So, frustrating, since the vacuuming not being done make the whole place look kinda slovenly, but since there's not really anything I can do about it right now, I'm not gonna let myself get all freaked out about it.

I've taken in a foster cat for a while - userinfoBabyIrishCub's Romero. He hasn't had shots, been neutered, or been tested for the various kitty diseases, so he's spent the past couple of days in the walk-in closet, and is going to Catsnip tomorrow to get all that taken care of. Assuming he's not positive for anything, I'll then let him loose in the house. Not considering the alternative at that time. Please send energy that he's negative for everything. By the way, without having gone myself and experienced it, just from the website, this program seems like it kicks much ass. I'll give more details tomorrow, but just damn. Romero is 9 months old, and looks JUST like Meau at that age. I mean JUST. He's active, and, as I was warned by userinfoProfundis, he climbs very well. I've had to put together my closet a few times post his explorations onto the upper shelves. He's very sweet, though, and like it's a hardship for me to take care of another cat for a while. Heh. :) I've decided I can foster animals on a limited basis, but I'm not planning on having any more of my own for quite some time. Once I take my classes, if my cats are interested, we'll talk about fostering on a regular basis, but for now, I'm much more happy with the few and far between stuff.

Met userinfoIndigoSkynet for breakfast today, which was cool. Got my Heaven's Breath, which I've been resisting trying until the Beastie gets home, 'cause I want to share it with him. Ordered another icon for me, and 2 for him, to be made after they meet in person, so she "gets" him before she draws him.

Tried to call userinfoThat_Sakka_Girl on my way out of that area, since I was near her place, with cash, and I owe her money, but I'll just do the bank thing or something. Thoughts, hon? My schedule is more or less flexible tomorrow, and I could do a ridiculously-early-on-a-holiday breakfast tomorrow, if you wanna do that.

And last, but most certainly not least, I made my social re-debut yesterday at the fabulous Scarlettalia. userinfoBlyssMouse, of course, was resplendent in all her birthday glory. userinfoGaeasSon was fabulous as always, and I didn't get to spend nearly enough time with him. He's best appreciated one-on-one. [livejournal.com profile] eisenhund was a bit of a surprise to me. This was the first time I'd really interacted with him (or, really, just watched him for an extended length of time), but I could tell his energy was so much different than when I'd been briefly acquainted with him years ago, and it was good. Not to mention that he was poetry in motion with the poi. And I finally got to meet, and talk to, [livejournal.com profile] faeriegirl380, who was pretty cool. Got to see so many people I hadn't seen in a long time, including the LJ-less-as-far-as-I-know Talyn, Maggie, Elaine, Tam, David (from eLit), his wife Beth, and their daughter, who people seemed to alternately call Ellie (I think) and Zoe, so not sure what her name was. Beth was pregnant with her when he worked at eLit, so it was cool to see the fruits of that labor (no pun intended). Also got to see userinfoWalkingBear and userinfoStrega42, as expected. userinfoStrega42 henna-ed my foot, with something I'm calling a phoe-cock, 'cause it seems to be a combination of the two. Very fuckin' cool. Got to see [livejournal.com profile] justben and meet [livejournal.com profile] radiantbaby for the first time in person - also cool. Got to see [livejournal.com profile] myndsweep and [livejournal.com profile] troyisburning spin fire, which was awesome. Not to mention the Nub Bump! :) Because of a Truth-or-Dare-Jenga mishap (Jesus Christ, the piece was half out of the tower already, and we hadn't even gone a full round! There's no WAY it should have toppled!!!!), I was introduced more intimately to userinfoPhoenixGeisha and the cane (dowel rod about the size of my pinky) she apparently carries around with her. Fucking ouch! She said I did fine, but I'm not used to going from 0 to 60 like that, and felt like I wasn't being a good sub at that moment, and I do so like to be a good sub, so that was kinda weird. Not sure what to think about it, but certainly not traumatized or anything either. There was that one couple there that's always at those parties, and I don't think I've ever caught their names. Bad K'La. And new people (to me) Claudia and Robert, and an older guy whose name I can't remember, and a chick with a baby (the baby's name was Eithan, but I can't remember her name), and a guy who appeared to be one of the Songdog children's (boy?)friend... [livejournal.com profile] chalice66, sadly sans husband or babies, [livejournal.com profile] feygirl and userinfoBoneCat, and the delightful Cullen, who I got to see for the first time, [livejournal.com profile] tojuwa and her friend whose name I can't remember, userinfoTechnoMom and userinfoSamBear... geez, I'm sure I'm leaving someone out, for which I apologize, but it was just so awesome to be out amongst people again, talking, sharing food and fun (limbo, fire-spinning, distraction darts, truth-or-dare Jenga, and probably some other stuff I don't recall), drinks (egad, the punch!), and just overall comraderie. Hooray for getting back into the swing of things! Thanks to everyone there for creating such a great space! Can't wait for the next thing!

Ummmmm.... I think that's everything. The Beastie has called, and he's on his way home, and we're going grocery shopping, and then I'm not sure what. Tomorrow, I need to be in Norcross at OMG 7:30am to drop off Romero for his vet stuff, and I need to stop in at work at my leisure to do filing and such. Sadly, David will be back that evening, which is great for my wallet, but alas, it means I still can't make it to [livejournal.com profile] tc_borderpagans, and likely won't in the foreseeable future. Given that that's my favorite way to get out and hang with people on a regular basis, that bums me. But, oh well, you can't have it all!

Sadly, I'm only flexible around breakfast time. I can do the bank thing, that's no biggie - I'll have to do the depository thing, so who knows when it'll go in, 'cause of the holiday. Was just trying to kill two birds with one stone! :)

Understood, and I'm sorry we'll miss each other. As far as I know, the bank is only closed on Monday, so it should go in on Tuesday. I'll check my online banking on Tuesday, and again on Wednesday, and if it's not in by then, I'll let you know.

Rick and I would still like to have you and Glenn over for dinner at some point soon. If during the week isn't good, we can schedule for a weekend once his new schedule goes into effect.

A Sunday brunch or early afternoon thing would be best, 'cause my evenings are all still taken (and if they aren't, I have very little notice about it). I'm good with whatever. Actually, now that I think of it, Saturday same time would be better, 'cause if he gets the schedule he wants, he'll have that day off once a month to do Guys' Night. Let me know what works for y'all.
